Marine Log - January 2008 - (Page 10) Update Ingram adds new tank barges to its fleet Ingram Barge Company, Nashville, Tenn., recently ordered twenty 10,000 bbl double-skin tank barges—the largest addition to Ingram’s tank fleet in 31 years. The barges were from ordered JamesBuilt LLC, a subsidiary of vessel repair company James Marine Inc., Paducah, Ky. Ingram currently owns and operates nearly 200 tank barges, which carry oil and chemical products. According to senior vice president and COO Dan Martin, delivery of the tank barges will occur over a 30-month period starting this year. Martin says half of the barges will be quipped for vapor recovery, and the other half with steam coils for heating cargoes.
