The new system, called Siplink, lets ships shut down their diesel generating sets while in port, reducing exhaust gases, soot, fine dust and noise and also offering potential energy savings between 25-30%. www.energy-portal.siemens.com Alfa Laval unveils new S and P Flex separation systems Alfa Laval, Sweden, announced the launch of its new S and P flex separation systems at the Marintec Exhibition in Shanghai, China. The flex range expands and streamlines Alfa Laval’s separation offering, creating flexible options that let shipyards and ship owners better meet their needs and budget. An advantage of S and P Flex systems is the number of possibilities for constructing the systems themselves. Deliveries can be as simple as a single separator with ancillares, or as comprehensive as a four-separator module built with both S-and-Pseparators. These new S and P Flex separation systems are also better adapted to engine room layout and are equipped with the EPC 60 system control. www.alfalaval.com The comprehensive four-seperator module built with both S-and-P-separators www.marinelog.com JANUARY 2008 MARINE LOG 33 http://zf-marine.com http://www.energy-portal.siemens.com http://www.alfalaval.com http://www.marinelog.com
