Bisso & Son, Inc., has commissioned a new tug boat. The Josephine Anne, a 4,000 horsepower, Z-drive tug, with a length of 96 ft, a beam of 34 ft and a draft of 14.8 ft, will join E.N. Bisso’s existing fleet of 16 boats. Voyager of the Seas finds its home at the Port of Galveston Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., has signed a five-year agreement to homeport the 138,000 grt Voyager of the Seas at the Port of Galveston. The Voyager of the Seas will carry up to 125,000 round trip passengers from the port on cruises to the Caribbean and Mexico this season. “Hosting this ship in the Gulf will bring great economic impact to the region, adding to the success of 2006 when we saw $1.1 billion in direct spending, the creation of 19,341 jobs and $907 million generated in new income for the state of Texas,” said port director Steven M. Cernak. Voyager of the Seas arrives in Texas N cient assistance to large ocean-going vessels calling at over 100 facilities along the 238 miles of the Lower Mississippi River, from the river's entrance to Baton Rouge. It also has a Bollard Pull of 55 Tons ahead and astern and has accommodations for six. The tug is named after the granddaughter of Captain Edwin N. Bisso, who Josephine Anne will join established the company E.N. Bisso’s existing fleet of 16 during World War II.
