At a Gulf State Shipbuilding Consortium Conference, Mississippi Governor Haley Barber said that the $20 million requested for the project would come from the federal government’s Katrina Recovery Fund via the Mississippi Development Authority. The Cayman Guardian, a 65 ft Dauntless RAM patrol boat, has two high-speed MAN diesel engines, each rated at 1,100 hp, with a top speed of 34 knots and cruising speed of 28 knots. The patrol boat’s pilot house has room for six crew members and features communication and engineer stations in addition to an emergencry treatment table and S Rolls-Royce moves to Singapore Rolls-Royce is moving its global headquarters for marine business from London to Singapore. The company decided to make the move based on an increase in the AsiaPacific global commercial shipping market and for Singapore’s well developed infrastructure, human capital, central location within Asia and the fact that it is already home to a number of other Rolls-Royce operations. The Putra Jaya Singosari can accommodate up to 22 crewmembers and has tankage room for 305 tonnes of fuel oil and 170 tonnes of fresh water. Propulsion for the AHT is supplied by two Cummins KTA38-M2 engines, each rated at 1,200 hp at 1,800 rev/min, and nozzled propellers. The Indonesian-flag Putra Jaya Singosari has a 28-tonne bollard pull.
