Marine Log - June 2008 - (Page 14) Update Floating Pool Lady will spend the summer in the Bronx Last November, Marine Log took a look at the Floating Pool Lady, an 80 x 260 ft refitted-decommissioned barge being used as a pool at Brooklyn Bridge park, in Brooklyn Heights. The brain child of Ann Buttenweiser, the pool serves underprivileged communities where public pools are few and far between. This summer, the seven lane pool is making its way to the Bronx, where it will be moored at the Tiffany Street pier at Barretto Point park. For more information on the Floating Pool Lady visit: www.floatingpool.org INL AND • COASTAL • OFFSHORE • DEEPSEA Offshore Oil Services adds three new vessels to its fleet T he latest three vessels in the Offshore Oil Service fleet are all being built at Breaux’s Bay Craft, New Iberia, La. The three crewboats are, the Anna M, Raymond M and Hannah Ray. The Anna M is 145-ft and is powered by four Cummins KTA38 M2 engines. The Raymond M, measures 162-ft and is powered by four Cummins KTA50 M2 for a total of 7,200 hp. The Hannah Ray, currently under construction, will measure 145 ft. The vessel is expected to operate in all areas of the Gulf of Mexico. It’s propulsion will be supplied by four KTA38 M2 engines for a total of 5,600 HP. Hannah Ray will be able to cruise at speeds of 27 knot and a top speed of 30 knots. It will feature a 81 ft x 23 ft clear cargo deck and will be able to carry 68 passengers. The Hannah Ray currently under construction at Breaux’s Bay Craft The company’s four older vessels include, the 110-foot Hayden built at Gulf Craft in 1981.
