Newsmakers AMERICAN COMMERCIAL LINES INC., Jeffersonville, Ind., has appointed Dawn R. Landry to the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Landry was most recently Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Formula Telecom Solutions, Inc., a provider of operating, customer management, billing systems and solutions for telecommunications service and content providers. New York City headquartered L-3 Communications has announced the appointment of Rene Osias as sales manager for its Klein Associates, Inc. division’s Side Scan Sonar Systems. Osias brings with him managerial and sales experience which he acquired during his more than 20 years with the U.S. Navy. WISTA appointed new presidents in both its U.S. and Swedish chapters. Jeanne Grasso, a partner at Blank Rome, was elected President of WISTA International Shipholding Corporation Newsmakers International Shipholding Corporation, Mobile, Ala. announced the retirement of William H. Harrison, a 44-year industry veteran with Waterman Steamship Corporation and its affiliates. Harrison held positions as port engineer, construction representative, district superintendent in San Francisco, marine superintendent, fleet William H. Walker, who was Harrison’s assistant for eight years, will take over as director of compliance for LMS Shipmangement, Inc. Harrison plans to stay involved in the maritime industry, continuing to be called as an expert witness in litigation.
