Marine Log - July 2008 - (Page G18) GULF COAST HEADLINER Bisso Marine adds another DSV Bisso Marine, Houston, Tex., added the Dive Support Vessel Joseph Bisso to its fleet of equipment. Built in 1978 and converted in 2007, the Joseph Bisso measures 180 ft x 44 ft x 15 ft and is powered by two EMD 12-645E2 main engines generating 3,000 bhp, with a cruising speed of 12 knots. The vessel is equipped with a GM 8V71, 300 bhp bow thruster and three gensets providing 450 kW of electrical power. The 110 ft x 24 ft boats come from Stanco Boat Rental Ltd., Freeport, Tex. and were sold to private operators in Panama. All four of the vessels—the Milky Way, Brenda Lee, Twix and Kit Kat—are quad screw boats powered by four GM 12V1TI M vide a four point station keeping system. Joseph Bisso was com- pletely upgraded in 2007, and is USCG Inspected and ABS classed for all oceans. Bisso Marine is currently implementing a ISO 9001:2000 program for the vessel. diesel engines producing 2,050 bhp at 1,800 rev/min. Each has its power provided by twin 30 kW generators powered by GM3-71 diesels. Three of the vessels, the Milky Way, Twix and Kit Kat are sister-boats. Each was built by Breaux Bay Craft, Loreauville, Louisiana, in 1979 and 1980. The sisterboats each provide capacity for up to 38 tons of deck cargo, in addition to seating for 59 passengers and accommodations for five crewmembers. The Brenda Lee was built in 1982 at Gulf Craft, Patterson, La. Its deck provides cargo capacity for 40 tons, passenger seating for 55, in addition to accomodations for up to seven crewmembers. The vessels are all being delivered on their own bottom directly to the buyer. Each is U.S. Coast Guard certified and is eqipped with full navigation aids. In addition, Marco reported that U.S. flagged, crewboat Mr. Jack was, also, sold to private Panamanian buyers. The 120 ft crewboat was sold by Jambon Boat Rentals LLC, Golden Meadow, La. Built in 1978 by Gulf Craft, Mr. Jack is powered by four Detroit Diesel 12V1TI engines, and can travel up to 22 knots. The boat’s electrical power is provided by a pair of 30 kW/GM3-71 generators and it can carry 54 passengers, five crewmembers and 50 Tons of deck cargo.
