The American Club, established in New York in 1917, is a collective of 13 mutuals that together provide P&I insurance for some 90% of all world shipping. Crowley Maritime Corporation, Anchorage, Alaska, has announced that Bob Cox has joined the company’s petroleum distribution group as general manager. Prior to joining Crowley, Cox was vice president at both Petro Marine Services, Inc. and Alaska Railroad. Michael Carter, Director of the Office of Environment at the Maritime Administration, Washington D.C., recently received a Team Bronze Medal from the Environmental Protection Agency for his work with the Vessels-to-Reefs Guidance Development Team. The Artificial Reefing Best Management Practices Joshua Rodriggs JAXPORT Arnold Witte Sr. The American Club Michael Carter MARAD were developed to provide the first consistent set of guidelines for use by EPA regions, states, the Maritime Administration and the Navy to prepare ships for artificial reefing in an environmentally sound manner. The guidelines now provide a baseline for the states to estimate the costs associated with preparing the ships. General Dynamics NASSCO, San Diego, Calif., has promoted Kevin M. Graney to vice president of engineering. Graney succeeds Jay P. Carson, who is retiring after 22 years of service with the company. Prior to joining NASSCO, Graney was the program manager of capital projects and metrics associated with the Virginia-class submarine program at the General Dynamics Electric Boat subsidiary. JAXPORT, Jacksonville, Fla., has named Joshua Rodriggs as manager of Latin American Marketing and Trade Development.
