No. 260, a double hull 60,000 BBL, OPA 90 compliant, tank barge built by Bollinger Gretna, LLC, Harvey, La. Morton S. No. 260 is a manned ocean, black oil barge measuring 350 ft long, with a 70 ft beam and a depth of 25 ft. The barge is equipped with a five million BTU/hr vapor thermal oil heater and two Byron Jackson cargo pumps, driven by Detroit series 60 engines. The deck is equipped with two EBI model C20-40 electric-hydraulic cranes. In May of 2008, Bollinger delivered the B. No 233, the second of two 35,000 BBL units to Bouchard (read more about B. No 233 in ML, July 2008, Gulf Coast Headliner). In the coming months, Bollinger will deliver the B. No. 284, a 80,000 BBL clean oil unit equipped with the Intercon connection system, in March 2009, B. No. 262, a 60,000 BBL clean oil barge in June 2009, and the B. No.264, a 60,000 BBL clean oil barge in March 2010. Once delivery of these barges is completed, Bouchard’s fleet will be 100% double hulled. After delivery, the B. No. 260 went directly into service supporting black oil transportation service primarily in the Northeast U.S. Lifts for Project Dancer Lift Emotion B.V., The Netherlands, will deliver a marine elevator system consisting of two custom made lifts, to the largest motor yacht built in the U.S. in over 75 years, the Project Dancer. Currently being constructed by Derecktor Shipyards, Bridgeport, Conn., the 85.6 m long vessel— designed by Azure Naval Architects, Holland—will feature a passenger elevator and a dumbwaiter—a small elevator used to move items and/or carry food. www.marinelog.com John W.
