The companies ventilators are designed for most confined space applications. From man cooling, welding, engine rooms, fume removal, to hazardous space atmospheres, Americ can provide the proper ventilation for any job. The ventilators are available in 8 to 20 inch models with 110V, 220V, 12V DC, and Pneumatic. Each has a CFM rating from 848cfm to 8, 000cfm. www.americ.com Geislinger to showcase new power monitoring system Germany’s based Geislinger is celebrating its 50th anniversary at this year’s upcoming SMM show. To celebrate the event, the company will be featuring its new Geislinger Power monitoring system, based on Twist measurement. Suitable for retrofitting on existing propulsion systems, in addition to new ships, the system provides precise power measurement onboard monitoring the vibration behavior of the shaft line. The way it works is, the system’s steel shafts twist under engine load and torsional vibrations, once this occurs the system then measures the behavior via measuring gear rings and inductive sensors. Precise algorithms detect the torsional vibrations and Booth A3.011 provide an exact overview of static twist—the engine output —and shaft line vibrations. This simple and compact concept avoids error-prone radio based signal transmission as well as strain gauges. The system also detects increased fuel consumption. www.geislinger.com Booth B3.OG.118 www.marinelog.com 40 MARINE LOG AUGUST 2008 Visit MARINE LOG’s home on the WORLD WIDE WEB for: • News updates • Latest MARINE LOG conference programs • On-line Buyers’ Guide • Previews of future features • U.S. Shipbuilding Contracts • On-line renewal of your Marine Log subscription . . . and much more! www.marinelog.com http://www.americ.com http://www.geislinger.com http://www.strategicmarine.com http://www.marinelog.com http://marinelog.com http://www.strategicmarine.com http://www.marinelog.com http://www.marinelog.com
