Marine Log - October 2008 - (Page 43) JonRie receives winch order from Asenav JonRie Intertech received an order the Asenav Ship Building, Valdivia, Chile, for LNG Winches that will be fitted on several Asenav built tugs. The winch system will be powered by a 110 kW HPU and it’s controls feature a full render/full recover system, slip brake system, independent drive level wind with pilot house control, on deck controls, joystick/foot winch speed controls and direction controls. In addition the system also features a real-time tension telemetry hawser data logging system. JonRie’s Series 250 LNG Escort Winches will be fitted on the tugs’ bows. The winches have a line pull of 75 tonnes, linespeed of 35m per minute, double braking system with a capacity of 120 tonnes and the capacity to spool 200 meters of 75mm soft line. Once completed the 32.5m vessels will go to Ultra Tug, Santiago, Chile, where they will support the LNG Terminal at Quintero, Chile. www.marinewinch.com FCC approval for iPRO The FCC has approved ACR Electronics’ Global Fix iPRO. The iPRO is the first EPIRB in the world to offer an exclusive digital display screen and dual GPS capabilities. The iPRO’s 406 MHz signal can be sent and recieved in all different types of weather conditions. With the internal GPS coordinates being acquired within the first 100 seconds after activation.
