Marine Log - December 2007 - (Page 47) EMPLOYMENT Don’t Forget to Program Manager – New Construction – Washington State Ferry Program Todd Pacific Shipyards, based in Seattle, WA is currently recruiting a Program Manager for the construction of new ferries for the State of Washington. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will manage and direct a program management team, act as the primary interface with the customer and coordinate activities of Todd functional departments, partners and subcontractors. Todd is currently concluding exclusive contract negotiations with the State of Washington. The successful candidate, arriving just as the program begins, will have tremendous influence on the design and build strategy, regulatory requirements and contract definition. Additionally, this individual will identify and plan the internal processes and procedures required to ensure all obligations to the customer are met. As the program transitions into execution, the Program Manager will direct the successful completion of this major construction project. The current expectations are that production work will begin in January of 2009 and continue through 2013 or beyond. Appropriate candidates will possess: • A proven track record demonstrating a thorough, detailed understanding of the process of ship design, construction and material management. • Substantial capability in vessel construction contracts and the development of construction drawings. • A history of managing all technical aspects of a significant new construction project.
