Responsibilities of the position include • Assist with the preparation of bridge design solutions that reflect the most economical methods while minimizing disruptions to operations • Prepare detailed cost estimates and project schedules for proposed railway bridge projects • Prepare preliminary and detailed designs • Provide engineering support to field personnel during construction • Review shop drawings of steel and concrete girder fabrications • Input in updating bridge standard plans and specifications Working Conditions • Requires significant amount of time working on computers and reviewing detailed drawings • Ability to adopt to changing project schedules, priorities and deadlines • Required to be on call during emergency situations • Intermittent periods of overtime and travel to field sites under all weather conditions CN is an equal opportunity employer and encourages all qualified candidates to apply.
