Railway Track & Structures - August 2008 - (Page 46) PRODUCTS AND LITERATURE spindle gears ground for minimum backlash, a special saw blade guide and dampening device for accurate cutting to stabilize the blade, a lowmaintenance design, dry operation needing no coolant. An electronic overload device monitors cutting performance and stops the saw feed when necessary. A heavy, welded machine base is ribbed and braced for rigidity. A chip conveyor moves chips to the rear of the machine for deposit into a tote box. The saw can be combined with an integrated or inline rail hole drill machine for bolted joints at the rail ends or with infeed and outfeed material-handling systems. Phone: 815-316-5277. G-Xing warning system The crossing warning system offered by Global Rail Systems, Inc., is designed as a low-power-consumption system for solar or AC applications. The system is a three-section design for approach detection from either direction with an island circuit at the crossing with stick release timer for added efficiency. The system utilizes innovative technology and design to allow for easier installations. The Model CWL-7 provides vital approach and train occupancy indications for crossings where flashing lights and a bell are all that is required. Model CWL-7G is a gated system. The detection circuits allow for positive detection even in rusty rail applications without additional equipment. Phone: 866-883-2213. Combined saw/drill unit The Amsaw R-series saw from Advanced Machine & Engineering Co. is designed specifically for high-production cutting of high-alloy rails. The saw features a saw blade changeover time of less than 3 minutes, hardened Lift trucks Hyster Company has introduced the H800HD-H1050HD/S lift truck series. These lift trucks support load capacities from 80,000 lbs to over 105,000 lbs. By incorporating the box-type frame construction used in the company’s container handlers, the trucks provide the stability needed for heavy-duty applications. They offer advanced electric, brake and hydraulic systems that reduce maintenance time while increasing production. Each truck has a powerful Cummins QSM 11-300-hp engine and tandem gear pumps, as well as a fully-automatic, load-sensitive APC200 system that allows for manual transmission shifting. The front-mounted Hyster ComforCab II™ is designed to optimize driver visibility and comfort. The spacious cabin has adjustable seats and arm rests, a high-capacity heater system with multiple vents and anti-vibration mounts to reduce cab shock. Protection features include a shutdown system to monitor low oil or high temperatures, strategically placed warning lights and an LCD screen that displays real-time machine status. Phone: 800-HYSTER-1. Automated excavation system The PowerDigger automated excavation system is offered by Leica Geosystems Inc. Features include bright color graphics to guide the operator straight to the target grade with minimal passes. The large, see-at-a-glance color display screen provides the operator with precise information on the depth and position of the excavator bucket. Multiple job settings permit switching between different digging profiles at the touch of a button. Custom profiles can be created on the machine to continue from existing ground profiles. Phone: 770-326-9557. Mobile hydraulic crane Air Technical Industries has introduced a self-propelled mobile hydraulic crane with a triple section telescopic boom for high lift and long reach into hard-to-reach spaces. A very narrow base design enables the crane to travel in crowded places. Features include the capability of steering 90 degrees to either side making sharp turns around corners; infinitely variable speed control from zero to 4 mph; battery operation with optional battery chargers. Functions include boom lifting and lowering, telescopic boom action in and 46 Railway Track & Structures August 2008 www.rtands.com http://www.rtands.com
