Nearly 1,300 buffalo, one of the largest herds anywhere, roam free in this 71,000-acre park. The Wildlife Loop Road winds through the prime buffalo range in the southeastern part of the park. The huge bulls know they have the right of way, and you’ll be thrilled with the upclose views of these shaggy beasts as they boldly amble across the road, bringing traffic to a halt.
