You’ll enjoy the many photo stops, picnic areas, climbing rocks and alpine brooks along the way. Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway throngs with summertime pleasure drivers. Limestone palisades tower to the right and left of Highway 14A as it twists through the 19-mile gorge. It’s easy to pull off any of the Black Hills scenic roads to enjoy a little outdoor recreation. There are numerous trailheads, hiking paths, walkways, historic/cultural markers and other easily accessible activities.
