You can enjoy a course of disc golf in Rapid City’s Jackson Park on the west side of town. A downtown alley had been a favorite target for taggers, who left walls, doorways and dumpsters covered with spraypainted graffiti. Then someone turned up the artistry a notch and urged artists to go for it. Amateur artists emerged from midnight shadows and into daylight popularity. The City resurfaced the alley with concrete pavers to heighten the respectability of the back alley. “Art Alley” is between Main Street and St. Joe, a block long, connecting Sixth and Seventh Streets. That’s near the Hotel Alex Johnson. You’ll know when you’re there. t Sioux Park is home to one of the city’s many gardens.
