Kadoka
Kadoka is a friendly town with
many advantages to offer I-90 travelers such as reasonable rates and easy access to visitor services. Motels include Rodeway Inn, Budget Host, West Motel, Ponderosa Motel, Silver Court, Leewood Motel, Dakota Inn, Wagon Wheel Motel and America’s Best Value. Local restaurants serving the area are Nibble Nook, H&H El Centro, Jiggers and Club 27 Steak House. There are also 2 campgrounds, the Ponderosa and the Kadoka Campground. Spend some time exploring our area. The Badlands Petrified Gardens at Exit 152 is a unique outdoor display of petrified wood and prehistoric fossils. The Depot Museum located at the south end of Main St., tells the story of Kadoka’s beginning as a railroad town in 1906. A drive south on SD Hwy 73 provides a scenic view of the beautiful badlands basin and surrounding ranch land. Incredible Metals, a metal art studio, is on Hwy 73, 14 miles south of Kadoka. Farther south you can turn west on Hwy 44 for a drive through the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Relax at the city's swimming pool, have a picnic in the park or play a round of golf on our unique sand green golf course. The adults may want to enjoy a drink or video lottery at the City Bar or Discount Lounge. Be sure to visit Badlands National Park, just 20 minutes away on I-90. You’ll find a Visitor Center, interpretive trails to explore and many other opportunities for hiking. Our entire area is a Natural Wonder. Come see for yourself! ■
