Student Affairs around the Region Tennessee Updates Maryville College The Office of Residence Life is happy to welcome Sarah Hailey to our family. Sarah will serve as the Resident Director for Gamble Hall and as the campus Intramurals Coordinator - a new blended position between Residence Life and Athletics. Sarah is an alumnus of Maryville, and is joining us most recently from Delgado Community College in New Orleans where she worked with service learning. Vanderbilt University Greetings from Vanderbilt University! It has been an exciting year of change and transition here in our Office of Housing & Residential Education! As 2013-2014 began, we bid farewell to several staff members who moved on to new opportunities. Scott Rausch, Associate Director for Residential Education at the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons, accepted the position of Director of Residence Life at Emory University. Scott served as a member of our senior leadership team for 5 years. Sharese Shannon, Area Coordinator for Highland Quad, accepted the position of Student Success Coach for Inside Track at Austin Peay University. Sharese served as a member of our staff for 3.5 years. Kate Reed, Area Coordinator at the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons, accepted the position of Assistant Director for Residence Life at Sewanee: The University of the South. Kate served as a member of our staff for 3 years. Jason Steinas, Area Coordinator for Alumni Lawn, accepted the position of Assistant Director for Residential Learning Initiatives at the University of South Carolina. Jason served as a member of our staff for 3 years. Annie Maselli, Graduate Assistant for Programming, accepted a position as a Residence Life Coordinator at Brown University. She served as a GA with our office for 2 years. We were also pleased to welcome several new members into our OHARE family. Lani San Antonio joined our team as the new Associate Director for Residential Education at the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons. Lani came to us from Clemson University where she served as an Assistant Director for Residence Life and doctoral student. In her new role, Lani will provide mentorship to our Area Coordinator 34 staff and work collaboratively with ten live-in Faculty Heads of House to shape the first year experience at Vanderbilt. Doug Ashcroft joined our team as the new Area Coordinator for Highland Quad, an area of upperclass apartments and living-learning communities. He came to us from Louisiana State University and holds a master's degree in Higher Education Administration from Florida State University. Michael C. Brown joined our team as the new Area Coordinator for Off-Campus Housing. He came to us from the University of West Georgia where he oversaw the Greek Village. He obtained a master's degree in English from the University of West Georgia. Tonimarie Viola joined our team as the new Area Coordinator for Alumni Lawn. Toni will be working with some of our signature living-learning communities including the McTyeire International House and McGill project. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Bloomsburg University and most recently worked as a Residence Hall Director at Lock Haven University. Angel Holmes joined our team as a new Area Coordinator for the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons. Angel will work directly with Faculty Heads of House to create an engaging living-learning experience for first year students. She holds a master's degree in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University. Kevin Cleland joined our team as the new Graduate Assistant for Marketing & Communications. Kevin came to us from the University of Colorado - Boulder where he served as a Residence Hall Director. He is pursuing a master's degree in Higher Education Administration at Vanderbilt's Peabody College. Kristen Webb was promoted to Graduate Assistant for Programming. She previously served the department for two years as a Head Resident and Resident Advisor. Kristen is pursuing her master's degree in Leadership and Organizational Performance at Vanderbilt's Peabody College. Luke Nantz joined our team as the new Graduate Program Coordinator for the McGill residence hall. He comes to us from Case Western University and is pursuing his master's degree in Elementary Education at Vanderbilt's Peabody College. Alison Matarese was promoted from Program Coordinator for Housing Assignments into the Associate Director for Housing Assignments position. She previously served as an Area Coordinator for the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons before transitioning to the Housing Operations side. SEAHO Report Winter 2014
