Even my mom, who knows nothing of popular culture, knew who he was when I said “ the little gay guy that Karen fights with on Will & Grace.” “Oh, my God. I love him!” was her reply. “He’s so funny!” When I told her that I had spent nearly two days with him (at a photo shoot and an interview), she nearly dropped the phone. I’m certain that among my mom’s friends and neighbors in Topeka, KS, I am a minor celebrity (by association). I have arrived He’s gone now, but Leslie Jordan will return to Seattle during Pride weekend for two performances with the Seattle Men’s Chorus. Until then, check out our interview on page 14. The month of May brings the return of The Seattle International Film Festival, and SIFF’s got a great line-up of films for the LGBT crowd this year. Matthew McQuilkin avoided the recent cold spell and sat home watching screeners for the upcoming festival. Four of his top picks are in this month’s What’s Hot section on page 26. And as the weather turns warmer, leash up the beast, and get outside. Julie Forbes has some suggestions for exercising your pooch in her regular Pet Project column on page 10. ’mo managed to catch the softballers (and their supporters) at Purr recently as the Emerald City Softball Association kicked off a new season.
