Or it’s just less than four hours drive west from Denver to Aspen. Plentiful free town shuttles make a car far from vital during an Aspen stay. Twenty-five years old in 2009, Stowe’s homo snow show features skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, hot-tub gatherings, DJs, snowshoeing, massage, pizza parties, and drag entertainers. This year the itinerary is spiced up by appearances by comedian hypnotist Dave G and Boston Gay Men’s chorus. Stowe’s cozy size and smaller attendance (250 to 300) mean everyone makes friends with everyone. All levels of skiers are invited to participate in New England’s most enticing LGBT ski celebration. GETTING THERE Northwest ﬂies via Detroit to Burlington International Airport (40 minutes’ drive from Stowe) in seven hours. Continental ﬂies via Newark to Burlington in around eight hours. There are train services to Waterbury, 20 minutes’ drive from Stowe, from Boston (via Springfield, eight hours). Pick up a rental car or taxi from Burlington, Waterbury, or Stowe.
