GSBA Named National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of the Year LOCAL DESIGNER DAVID OWN HASTINGS ALSO HONORED The Greater Seattle Business Association was named National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce of the Year during the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce’s (NGLCC) fifth-annual National Dinner: An Evening of Courage! The dinner was held November 7 in Washington, D.C. “This is an incredible honor for the Greater Seattle Business Association,” said GSBA Executive Director Louise Chernin. “It recognizes the dynamic work of our chamber. With approximately 1,000 members, the GSBA is the largest business chamber of its kind in the United States, and the second largest business chamber in Washington state.” GSBA member David Owen Hastings Design also was honored at the dinner. The Ballardbased business was named first runner-up in the prestigious NGLCC/Wells Fargo LGBT Business Owner of the Year Award. Since 1990, GSBA has invested in the next generation of leaders through its Scholarship Program, which has awarded more than $800,000 to more than 225 undergraduate that works exclusively with Puget Sound-area students in Washington state.
