One of the chamber’s most important responsibilities is to provide services to 3 million annual tourists. The Sedona-Oak Creek Chamber of Commerce visitor center is located in uptown Sedona at Hwy 89A and Forest Road, and is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sundays and holidays; closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. This official visitor center is the place to obtain maps and various publications; purchase a Red Rock Pass, which is required for parking in the national forest; and receive directions and suggestions from well-informed, courteous staff members and volunteers. The center provides information about sightseeing, recreational and cultural activities, special events, weather and climate, flora and fauna, history, driving distances and transportation avenues, and environmental conditions. The staff can answer questions about Sedona demographics, churches, schools, local government and media, Sedona Film Office services, civic and nonprofit organizations and facilities, historical sites, Coconino National Forest, state or national parks and monuments or nearby Native American communities.
