The Architectural Woodwork Institute, as an organization, teams up with many other organizations, such as AIA, CSI, forestry groups, etc., to work toward making our industry the best it can be. In turn, AWI encourages its membership to take the team approach on each individual project in which they are involved. The value of partnering goes beyond just working well together. it means averting problems, finding solutions to problems that might arise, saving time and money, meeting schedules, and most important, producing a positive outcome for the client. after all, woodworking is only one aspect of a project our members participate in. There is the design portion, the construction portion, and the owner’s wishes and desires that need to be fulfilled. Trust Brings Success The best way to achieve a successful project outcome is to have all parties partner from the beginning stages of the project. Before a board is sawn, a nail is hammered, or the pencil hits the drawing board, the entire team should begin collaborations. cooperation, teamwork, and open communications make a project proceed more smoothly, with less stress, less frustration and fewer lost billable hours for everyone.
