Design Solutions - Spring 2008 - (Page 22) The seat of government for the Williamsburg style village of 25,000 residents is the newly built New Lenox Village Hall. Timeless in design and classic in appearance, the facility complements the historic roots established in the Village Commons. Traditional in look, the building is decidedly modern in function. New Lenox awarded the Village Hall project in November of 2003. The hall was dedicated May 12, 2007. The 59,000 square foot building provides administrative work space for staff serving this growing population area and includes space for board meetings, modern data and voice communications, cable television production, parking and identity for future generations to reflect upon the character of the community. Selected to complete the project was the architectural firm of Postl-Yore and Associates, Inc., Arlington Heights, Illinois. Woodmill Products, Inc., an AWI member firm from New Berlin, Wisconsin, fabricated the architectural woodwork for the facility. According to Leonard Mazanek, senior architect, Village Hall is a building for the citizens. “The building is designed AT A GLANCE: to say welcome. It serves as one of the anchors to the commons and is a building that will serve residents for years to come.” New Lenox Village Hall 4An entry wAll of oAk divided lite windows leads to the beautiful new council chamber. 22 DESIGN SOLUTIONS I Spring 2008
