CoRNERSTOnE CoRNERSTOnE E Inside Info For Design And Construction Professionals AWI Inroduces Podcasts ® on LEED Some day soon, if you have not already, you will likely be asked to bid on a project that is LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified. Growing in viability, this voluntary Green Building Rating System, along with the complex issues of sustainable forestry practices, certification of wood products and the channels by which professional woodworkers and designers can access these materials, has become the focus of increased scrutiny within the design and construction industries. with the growth of “green” design and construction, architectural woodworkers and design professionals need added insight into how they fit into the green construction scheme. now, awi’s new podcasts are “quick learn” tools on the fundamentals of the leed® system of the u.s. Green Building council (usGBc). The podcasts outline various aspects of leed® in twelve audio chapters on awi’s website, awinet.org. The architectural woodwork centered podcasts contain images, lists, websites, and guides for the listening public 6 DESIGN SOLUTIONS attached to every session. individual chapters run six to nine minutes each.
