Shippensburg University - President's Report 2007-2008 - (Page 8) places It was an active year for construction projects as we continued our efforts to maintain and improve campus. Dauphin Humanities Center received a 4,600-square-foot addition that houses the College of Arts and Sciences dean’s office as well as department faculty offices. The building’s utilities and classrooms were also upgraded. Planning is also underway for an addition to Huber Art Center, Lehman Library, and the Ceddia Union Building—all to meet the growing needs of students, faculty, and staff. ShipRec, the new 62,000-square-foot student recreation center, opened in Spring 2008. It includes an 8,000-square-foot cardio/strength fitness center; four multipurpose courts for volleyball, basketball, and racquet sports; an 1,800-square-foot group fitness studio, an elevated running track; racquetball and squash courts; day lockers and locker rooms; and administrative offices.
