Schedule & Welcome PRESIDENT’S BREAKFAST Millie Marshall Vice President, Information Systems Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. In her present role, Millie Marshall is responsible for all aspects of Information Systems, including business application and technology development, strategic planning, and day-to-day operations for manufacturing and design. Marshall joined Toyota in 1991 and initially worked at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc., in Information Systems, supporting manufacturing and electronic data interface projects. In 1997, she moved manufacturing headquarters in Erlanger, Kentucky, as Manager in Information Systems. Three years later, she was named Assistant General Competitions Professionals Speakers & Advisors & Networking Manager, supporting manufacturing and quality systems related to supply chain management on a local, regional and global level. In 2003, she joined the Human Resources department as an Assistant General Manager, where she was responsible for projects related to benefits and work force planning as well as Toyota’s North American manufacturing diversity strategy. During 2003 she was named General Manager of Administration at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Alabama, Inc. (TMMAL), located in Huntsville, Alabama. She was responsible for Human Resources, Corporate Affairs, and Accounting and Finance for Toyota’s Alabama engine plant. Prior to her career at Toyota, Marshall worked for Parker Hannifin Corporation and Square D Company in Information Systems. She earned a bachelor of arts in organizational management from Midway College in Midway, Kentucky, and an associate degree in applied science from Lexington Community College in Lexington, Kentucky. SALUTE TO CORPORATE AMERICA LUNCHEON S. Shariq Yosufzai President, Global Marketing Chevron Since 2004, Shariq Yosufzai has been responsible for Chevron’s fuels marketing, commercial and industrial marketing as well as convenience retailing operations worldwide. Yosufzai graduated in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University. The following year, he joined Texaco as a process engineer. After serving in a number of engineering positions of increasing responsibility, he entered the management ranks in 1988, eventually overseeing Operations with the Southeastern marketing region of Star Enterprise, then a joint venture with a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco. In 1991, Yosufzai assumed the position of Director of Information Technology and Planning for Texaco Lubricants Company (TLC). A year later, he was named Vice President of Supply, Manufacturing and Distribution. In 1994, he was named President of Texaco Lubricants Company. He later also served on the Management Committee of Star Enterprise. In 1998, Yosufzai was appointed Vice President of Caltex Petroleum Corporation with geographic responsibility for Africa as well as corporate business units dealing with trading, aviation, asphalt, liquefied petroleum gas, lubricants and information technology. In 1999, he was named Corporate Vice President of Caltex Corporation and president of Caltex Lubricants & New Business Development, responsible for the global lubricants business and for activities encompassing all businesses in China, India, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Indonesia as well as gas, power and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). He was also Chairman of Caltex Lubricants Lanka Ltd. and a board member of Caltex Australia Ltd. (CAL), both publicly traded companies. Yosufzai was named President, Global Lubricants, upon the formation of ChevronTexaco in October 2001. In that role, he was responsible for the manufacturing, blending, sales and marketing of base oils, lubricants and coolants to customers worldwide. He was elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) in 2002. The following year, he assumed responsibility for co-leading Chevron Products Company, responsible for Chevron’s North America Refining and Marketing Operations. During our Networking Social, student members dance with SHPE National Board members to compete for the title, “SHPE #1 Dancing Star.” Fierce judges will have the responsibility of awarding points and selecting the best dancers of the night. Pre-College & Teachers A s the Southwest prepares to host one of the largest Hispanic conferences in the nation, the SHPE familia unites to network and socialize. The Valley of The Sun offers a colorful and dynamic downtown area. The Special Events Committee has also arranged for great entertainment — complete with live music, refreshments and dance competitions — during each night of the conference. The committee looks forward to seeing you on the dance floor. The Arizona Science Center opens its doors exclusively to SHPE members who will enjoy its fourth floor terraces and fascinating galleries. Undergrads & MUST Professional/Advisor Welcome Reception 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. SH: Dear Valley As they arrive in the sixth largest city in the United States, professionals will receive a warm and friendly welcome. This reception is just the first of many opportunities that they will have to network with professionals from around the country and Latin America. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2008 Fulanito Concert 11 p.m. – 2 a.m. PCC: 301 For the first time in SHPE history, the conference closes con broche de oro with its very own concert. It will feature Grammy-nominated Fulanito, a Dominican-American band that was among the first to combine merengue (perico ripiao) with bachata, reggaeton, rap, hip hop and house.
