Sanchez General Manager, Modular Systems, IBM Systems &Technology Group Adalio Sanchez has more than 25 years of experience in the information technology marketplace with an extensive background in product development, manufacturing, operations and brand management. In his previous role as General Manager of IBM System x and BladeCenter server product lines, he was responsible for all facets of IBM’s x86 server business. He was also General Manager of IBM Microelectronics, responsible for the operational and financial performance of IBM’s semiconductor and engineering services operations. As General Manager of the IBM System p server business, he significantly grew the business and increased IBM’s market share to become the leader in the UNIX server marketplace. In another previous position, he was General Manager of the Storage Networking Division and General Manager of Manufacturing Operations and Business Transformation in the IBM Personal Computer Division. He also led IBM’s Mobile Computing unit, which developed, manufactured and marketed the highly successful IBM ThinkPad line of notebook computers. Sanchez holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Miami and an MBA from Florida International University. Frequently named among the Top 50 Hispanics in Technology and Business, Sanchez serves as chairman to SHPE’s Executive Advisory Board. Dr. Joachim de Posada Author and Motivational Speaker With his specialty in sales, management, leadership and team building, Dr. Joachim de Posada has worked in more than 50 countries as well as the United States. His motivational methods have also transferred into the sports world, which has included motivating Olympic athletes to achieve higher levels of performance. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Miami since 1988, teaching leadership, psychology applied to sales, negotiating skills and time management. His combined experience in academia, corporate America and sports has given Dr. de Posada a unique perspective in putting proven principles to work to motivate and inspire people to new levels of excellence. Dr. de Posada holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Puerto Rico, as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate in psychology. Serving as Director, Learning Systems Division, of Xerox Corporation based in Stamford, Connecticut, he helped develop some of the most successful sales training programs available today. Later, he then became a consultant for Learning International and Achieve Global after the division was sold to Times Mirror Corporation. He helped Franklin Covey Corporation expand to Latin America, working in their international division as well as their domestic division. Dr. de Posada is the main author of the book “Don’t Eat the Marshmallow…Yet! The Secret to Sweet Success in Work and in Life,” which has been translated into 21 languages. Its sequel, “Don´t Gobble the Marshmallow… Ever! The Secret to Sweet Success in Times of Change,” was published last year. He also authored “How to Survive among Piranhas: Motivation to Succeed,” a best seller in Latin America and in Korea. Presently, he writes weekly columns for the San Juan Star and Yahoo! Latin America and has a motivational capsule three times a day on WOSO, the only commercial English radio station in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Stymied by a lack of enthusiasm for her field, she left to pursue psychology and became a motivational speaker. While conducting corporate training and stress management seminars for executives, she discovered her comedic skills and soon became a regular at the Comedy Showcase in Houston, Texas. In 1999 she used her experiences to create the hit one-woman show “Rocket Science and Salsa,” directed by Debbie Allen, in which she toured the country. She has appeared on television shows and headlined on entertainment programs for Univision, Galavision and Telemundo.
