Three student members are also elected to the NBOD, the national and vice national undergraduate representatives and the national graduate representative. Seven positions are also available for RSRs, one from each region. The one-year term of office for student representatives is from July 1, 2008, through June 30, 2009. I East Coast Conference Set for E-Week The Hispanic STEM Institute will be held at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia, during National Engineers Week, February 21-23, 2008. Following in the 20-year tradition of the Eastern Technical and Career Conference (ETCC), it will offer SHPE student and professional members in Region IV, Region VII and beyond quality programs focused on leadership, academic excellence, technology and professional development. It will also include tours and information sessions on various companies and government agencies as well as plenty of networking opportunities. The Institute also incorporates a new element: tracks specifically focused to meet the academic and leadership needs of the student attendees. They will be placed in various tracks based on their current GPAs and leadership experience. Seniors can also participate in the Graduate Program. The pre-college, undergraduate and graduate offerings will be expanded beyond the East Coast, allowing students from across the country to apply for the Institute. College student registration requires an application essay and an updated résumé with cumulative GPA. Student early registration is $75 by January 23 or $100 by January 30 and includes quadoccupancy hotel accommodations.
