SilverLink - Winter 2008 - (Page 2) A Year in Review 2007 marked our 62nd year in business. It was a year of both success and sadness. The founders of SilverStone Group, H.H. “Red” and Ruth Nelson, married for 70 years, passed away within two months of each other. They will be missed, but their strength, compassion and entrepreneurial spirit will live on through both the company and their foundation. Today we employ close to 200 Associates who are tenacious in their commitment to design and deliver comprehensive solutions to our enviable client base. We remain independent, responsible only to our clients. Our structure gives us the ability to be flexible and agile, proactive, innovative and transparent in an ever changing business environment. We continue to maintain the highest professional and ethical standards across every aspect of our operation. We have made significant investments in all aspects of our business to improve the range of services and solutions we offer. We fortified our employee benefits, risk management, private client services, human capital and claims advocacy teams by hiring additional experts in each field. We completed the implementation of a document imaging system, which allows our people to retain and instantly access client data. We redesigned both our website and client magazine. Clients can now access a wide range of risk management, employee benefit and investment information. Analytical tools allow the mining of confidential, passwordprotected client information on policies, certificates, claims, premiums and investment performance. The year also presented many challenges: the further softening property casualty market, increased insurance company consolidations and more expansive government regulations. During the next year we plan to continue our investment in people and systems, recognizing that technology is an important tool in your hands – and in ours to serve you. We intend to continue to be your best resource in protecting your assets and in developing your people. On behalf of all of the associates of SilverStone Group, we thank you for your business and wish you the very best in 2008. John H. Nelson President
