Marketing Times - December 2007/January 2008 - (Page 8) president’smessage willis turner, cAe, cse willis.turner@smei.org 2007 milestones SMEI has enjoyed tremendous success in 2007, and while reflecting on some of the significant milestones achieved, I’m in awe of the outstanding Professional Certification Class of 2007. I would like to applaud all of the certification candidates who successfully met the prerequisites and completed their exams in 2007. The professional designations earned by all of these individuals are a testimony to their dedication and resolve and will help them distinguish themselves and their careers. I’d like to dedicate this column to the class of 2007, which includes the following two candidates who achieved their certification and other significant career and professional milestones in the past year. Jeffrey Hayzlett, CME CSE Chief Business Development Officer and Vice President, Chairman’s Office, Eastman Kodak Company Mr. Jackson has been recognized numerous times for distinguished performance at Air Products, including three-time Salesman of the Year, the Chairman’s Sales Achievement Award, and three Product Management Quality Awards. He is a member of the Air Products President’s Circle. The Minority Enterprise Executive Council, also the publishers of MEA Magazine, has selected Mr. Jackson as one of the 25 Powerful Minority Men In Business, theme “Leading the Way.” A Gala is scheduled for February 15, 2008 at the JW Marriott, located at 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C to honor the recipients of this award. In addition, Jeff has received client recognition as Sales Person of the Year and Supplier of The Year. Jeffrey Hayzlett serves as Chief Business Officer and Vice President, Chairman’s Office, Eastman Kodak Company. In this role, he has responsibility for Corporate and Product Public Relations, Communications and Public Affairs, Brand Management, Corporate Sponsorships, Market Development and Corporate Relationships and Partnerships. Mr. Hayzlett reports to both the CEO and COO of the company. Mr. Hayzlett joined Eastman Kodak Company in April 2006 as Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group (GCG), leading all marketing activities for GCG. Mr. Hayzlett is currently a member of the board of directors of the Business Marketing Association (BMA), the Electronic Document Systems Foundation (EDSF) and is on the advisory board of the CMO Council. He is past chairman of the Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI) Foundation for Marketing Education, and is a permanent trustee to the SMEI Academy of Achievement Hall of Fame. He is also a two term past chairman of SMEI. Jeffery Jackson, CSE Corporate Accounts Manager, Tonnage Gases Equipment & Energy, Air Products & Chemicals, Inc Jeffrey Hayzlett, CME CSE Jeffery Jackson, CSE More 2007 Milestones Launched SMEI in Peoples Republic of China. New Chapters started in Atlanta and Boston. SMEI Organizational Leadership Development (SOLD) program launched for volunteer and staff advancement. Held very successful (first ever combined) SMEI Academy of Achievement and SMEI Annual Conference. New affiliation with Sales Management Association in the Netherlands, giving SMEI a presence with over 700 members in Europe. Signed MOU to launch a national affiliate of SMEI in India. Mr. Jackson was named corporate account manager within Air Products’ Tonnage Gases, Equipment and Energy division in January 2006. In this position, he is principally responsible for corporate account relationships with key customers in North America, as well as for supporting account team activity globally. 8 marketingtimes
