When the museum reopens to the public this fall, it will feature a central skylight atrium, a grand staircase, unique floor-to-ceiling glass displays to showcase selections from the museum’s more than 3 million artifacts, and a state-of-the-art gallery for the Star-Spangled Banner, the flag that inspired the national anthem. New visitor amenities include the Nina and Ivan Selin Welcome Center, two restaurants and three museum stores. SIGNATURE EXHIBITIONS “America on the Move,” “The American Presidency,” “First Ladies,” “The Price of Freedom: America at War,” and “Bon Appetit: Julia Child’s Kitchen” will be on view along with the “Albert Small Documents Gallery” and the “Jerome and Dorothy Lemelson Hall of Invention,” making the museum an inspiring place in which to explore America’s histoAbraham Lincoln’s ry and heritage.
