General Meeting Information (cont’d.) Contributed Papers and Symposia Sessions All contributed paper and symposium sessions will be held on campus in a variety of classrooms. Audio ampliﬁcation equipment will be provided in all rooms as needed. LCD projectors and computer stations will be available as standard presentation options. Computers will support Windows 2000, and Microso� PowerPoint presentations. Presentation Ready Room A Presentation Ready Room will be available in the Student Union Building Room 224 to help with presenters’ questions and needs for sessions, as well as to pre-load presentations onto the network. The Presentation Ready Room will be open at the following times: Audio-Visual Information Sunday, July 27 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday, July 28 - Tuesday, July 29 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Wednesday, July 30 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Botany 2008 will provide the opportunity for presenters to deliver computer-based presentations as a standard presentation option. The Pentium III computers that will be provided on campus support Windows 2000 and Oﬃce 2000 suite, including PowerPoint. The PowerPoint application handles older versions as well as Macintosh ﬁles saved as a 2000 or earlier version. Be sure and double check your presentation for accuracy as PowerPoint does not always carry over from Macintosh to Windows operating systems. For computer presentations, ﬁles should be accepted on CD- ROM and USB stick. Join the PlantingScience Team If you are a part of the PlantingScience community, or would like to know more about the BSA-led science mentorship program, please join us Tuesday evening. 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm - Fort Camp Lounge in Gage Mingle with mentors over hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Location of Scientiﬁc Sessions All scientiﬁc sessions and ticketed events will be held throughout the Campus. Exhibits and Conference-wide coﬀee breaks are located in the Exhibit Hall. A campus map is located inside the back cover of this program. Contributed Paper, Symposia & Colloquium Sessions Contributed Paper and Colloquium Sessions include presentations that are scheduled for 15 minutes each (inclusive of questions and discussion). Most Symposium sessions include presentations that are scheduled for 30 minutes each (inclusive of questions and discussion). Discussion Sessions Discussion Sessions will be held within the scientiﬁc program. In addition to the standard AV setup noted above, a ﬂip-chart will be provided in the session rooms. 9 8
