Utah Travel Guide 2008 - (Page 39) Dinosaur National Monument includes the largest quarry of Jurassic Period dinosaur bones ever discovered. About 350 tons of fossils and rocks, including full skeletons have been excavated from the site. Although the main quarry exhibit building is currently closed to the public for emergency repairs, a short hike from the parking area leads to a rock outcrop where visitors can explore and discover fossil fragments and a few large dinosaur bones. Besides dinosaurs, the monument, which stretches east into Colorado, is full of mapped hikes, backcountry adventures, scenic drives, and the whitewater thrills of the Green and Yampa Rivers.
