This commitment translates to a more dynamic classroom environment that challenges students with relevant concepts and frameworks that are hot topics in today’s global business environment. robert DeFillippi (PhD, Yale University), Professor of Management and Co-Director of the Center for Innovation and Change Leadership, oversees Global MBA internships and works with Global MBAs in the Capstone Seminar. DeFillippi has taught professional development workshops to senior managers for Sun Microsystems, British Telecom and Shell; and has received national awards for his workshops and symposia. He is Associate Editor of The International Journal of Management Review, and has numerous publications including articles in the European Management Journal and the International Journal of Human Resource Management. His most recent book, Knowledge at Work: Creative Collaboration in the Global Economy, was published in 2006. lin Guo (PhD, Boston College), Associate Professor of Finance, has particular interests and expertise in international finance. 2006 was a stellar year for Guo. She was one of four individuals selected for a summer appointment to the Shanghai Stock Exchange as a Visiting Senior Financial Economist. During this time she also worked with the Shanghai Futures Exchange. She has been an invited visiting scholar in the Stern School of Business at New York University’s Finance department and has numerous articles published in leading finance journals including The Journal of Banking and Finance, and The Journal of Empirical Finance. Industry Expertise Many of Sawyer’s faculty complement their teaching and academic research with practical professional experiences. By working as advisors to a variety of international organizations including Kraft Industries, Smith Barney, Gillette, Ritz-Carlton, Bayer, AT&T, American Express, EDS, faculty supplement academic theory with applied principles – a winning combination in a successful business school. 10
