Many schools offer an MBA, but few provide such a high degree of choice, flexibility, quality, and personal attention as Suffolk. the suffolk advantage career-focused from day one All Suffolk MBAs begin their program with the Effective Career Planning course. Taking on senior management roles in an executive format business simulation, you decide the fate of a global company. The course is capped off with a professional development session with an executive coach. Whether you have three or 20 years of experience, this is an excellent way to focus on your career as you begin your MBA. flexibility and convenience Choose from full-time or part-time; day or evening classes; Boston, North Andover, or online. Full-time students, many international and all with appropriate work experience, study side-by-side with part-time students—working professionals in Boston’s top corporations. Both groups bring expertise and real-world business challenges to evening class discussions; and lessons learned at night are readily applied to work or internships the next day. You can also accelerate your program of study by taking courses during summer sessions. No matter where you take classes, as a Suffolk MBA student, you have access to all Boston campus services and resources. The MBA office in North Andover is conveniently staffed during class sessions, and instruction is provided primarily by fulltime Sawyer Business School faculty. core course waiver option If you have a strong undergraduate preparation in business, you may be able to accelerate your MBA program by waiving the nine Suffolk MBA core courses. You may waive core courses MBA 610 through MBA 680 by having successfully completed equivalent undergraduate or graduate coursework within the past five years with a grade of B or better. Immediately upon admission to the MBA program, we will evaluate your waiver eligibility and develop your individualized program of study. You may petition for a further review of waiver eligibility before or during your first semester. You will receive credit for each course waived, reducing the total number of courses/credits needed to complete the Suffolk MBA. You may also elect to take a proficiency exam to gain a waiver. Proficiency exams must be taken in the first semester. This waiver policy applies across all MBA programs except the Executive MBA. All MBA students must complete a minimum of 31 credits (10 courses and MBA 600) in the Sawyer Business School. global focus Recognizing the importance of the global economy to multinational companies, businesses with global competitors, and those with a diverse employee base, the Suffolk MBA requires all students to enroll in Managing in the Global Environment. All students must also take one elective in international business. Those seeking a first-hand global experience take advantage of the optional one-week overseas Global Travel Seminars to such countries as Brazil, China, England, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. online option Part-time MBAs have the added flexibility of taking courses in the Suffolk MBA Online program. Full-time students may take a maximum of two courses fully online. concentrations If you wish to concentrate in a particular area of business, you may do so by choosing four electives in one functional area.
