Upon completion of the MSA program, you will be prepared to work as a valued member of or key advisor to the executive team in any international or domestic organization. the suffolk advantage aacsb accreditation Suffolk’s MSA program is the only one in Boston and one of only three in Massachusetts with AACSB accreditation separate from overall business school accreditation. transfer option To earn the MSA, a minimum of 21 credits must be completed at Suffolk University. You may transfer credits for up to three equivalent MSA courses completed at the graduate level at an accredited school if they were earned within the past five years with a grade B or better, provided the courses have not been used toward any other degree, certificate, or diploma. Equivalent MSA courses completed previously while earning another degree may be waived and elective courses substituted, with the approval of the associate director of graduate programs in accounting. A major in a business discipline other than accounting, you may take the accounting preparation courses and the MSA courses. joint degree and certificate programs mba/msa Please see the Joint Degree and Certificate Programs chart in the MBA section on page 18. admission To be considered for admission to the MSA or GDPA programs, you must complete the application process and: • • If you hold a degree from a foreign university, the director of graduate programs in accounting will assess your academic record and make an appropriate determination of which courses you may waive from among your management and accounting preparation courses. graduate diploma in professional accounting (gdpa) Designed for students who do not have a degree in accounting, the GDPA is an economical and focused way to gain understanding of and competence in the practice of accounting. This program prepares you to be an accounting professional in public practice, corporate management, not-forprofit organizations, and government agency controllership. The curriculum is planned for part-time study, allowing you to work while pursuing the diploma. It is possible to complete the program in three terms (less than 12 months). You may waive a maximum of three GDPA courses if you have completed equivalent courses at an accredited school with a grade of B or better.
