Visions - Spring 2008 - (Page 8) A Look at SCOA Automotive Related Businesses T H E P R O C E S S (Continued from page 5) Having delivered more than 10,000 Kawasaki robots to Ford so far, SCOA experiences nearly $20 million in sales a year from this venture, and considers this relationship with supplier and customer a lasting success. This business unit is also aiming to shift its main business model from traditional trade to investment opportunities. In addition to enhancing the value of existing projects, such as Hirotec Mexico and JASCO, this business unit is aggressively seeking new investment opportunities in the automotive industry, especially in the fields of automotive components manufacturing as a Tier 2 supplier and after-market parts distributor/dealer. Different than a typical investment bank or private equity fund, SCOA has a strategy that allows the business to realize value through long term operation and by pursuing synergy with our existing business platform. SCOA’s high standards in the automotive manufacturing field can be measured by more than dollars and unique products, though. The SCOA Detroit Office has received awards of excellence that include the Q1 Award from Ford Motor Company, as well as the ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certification and the ISO 14001, which translates to excellence in environment management systems and standards. 8 visions Spring | Summer 2008
