CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY - GROUP COMPANIES
Cosmotec
SCOA Group Company Cosmotec, through its project Estrelinhas-do-Mar (Little Starfish), developed several
activities with different institutions. The company has an internal program of environmental responsibility that
develops awareness campaigns for employees and their families, as
well as a collection of recyclable materials program. Cosmotec
industrial plant meets the laws and other environmental commitments,
preventing pollution and controlling, detecting and monitoring waste
disposal, packaging, washing water of chemicals and transport
products; thus proving its commitment to the environmental
management system of the company.
Cosmotec encourages employees and their families to undertake
volunteer work on behalf of institutions that care for needy children.
Consequently, 2001 Estrelinhas-do-Mar-Cosmotec community project
was created. Currently, the project supports the following institutions:
* Lar Mãe do Divino Amor: Institution that shelters and offers
multidisciplinary treatment to 40 children and adolescents who
have intellectual special needs.
* Casa Vida: Shelter for more than 20 HIV seropositive children
and adolescents, fully supporting health, well-being and social
inclusion needs plus study and leisure activities.
* Casa Passo a Passo: Institution for children and adolescents with
physical and intellectual special needs that offers food, therapies,
social inclusion and leisure activities.
Concerned about the future of the planet and community well-being in
which it operates, Cosmotec launched an education campaign to
support the economy called Água Q.S.P. Launched on March 22, 2009,
which is World Water Day, QSP has an acronym that translates as
"Quantity Enough To ..." and is the goal of this initiative: to make each
participant use only the amount of water needed to live with quality,
without the waste of such a vital resource for the survival of planet.
In 2010, Cosmotec became sponsor partner of GRAACC - Support
Group for Adolescents and Children with Cancer. The work of
this non-profit organization aims to ensure children and adolescents
with cancer the right to access all the chances of cure with quality of
life, in the most advanced scientific standard. Every month, the
hospital GRAACC performs more than 2,500 calls, divided between
chemotherapy sessions, consultations, outpatient procedures,
bone marrow transplants and surgeries, among others.
