internships as part of their degree requirements.
These programs integrate classroom instruction and
on-the-job experience to ensure that you will be truly
job ready. In fact, the National Association of Colleges
and Employers reports that employers made full-time
offers to 73% of their interns in 2015.
An internship also helps you to develop a network
of professional contacts, which often begins with
SUNY alumni who create job opportunities.

Recently, SUNY researchers have been busy creating
a mini vortex laser that accelerates light-based communication by transferring 10 times more data than
conventional lasers, and developing the next generation of early warning weather prediction technology.
SUNY ranks among the nation's top patent-producing
universities, and our Research Foundation supports
more than $920 million of externally-sponsored
research activity annually.
