for you! You'll find thousands of
undergraduate academic programs
to prepare you for virtually any
career imaginable.

Three Types of
Undergraduate Programs.

The curricula represented in this viewbook reflect
SUNY's undergraduate degree programs or majors.
Besides majors, most campuses offer minors, concentrations or other groupings of courses that may be
an excellent fit for your interests.

Associate degree programs (including AAS, AS,
AA, AOS) usually take two years of study and prepare
students for employment or transfer (most often AA
or AS degree options) to a bachelor's degree program
at a four-year campus. Associate degrees are offered
at Community Colleges and some of the Technology
Colleges.

Pre-professional programs, such as pre-law or premedicine, are not academic majors or minors. Rather,
they are coordinated undergraduate curricula designed
to prepare students for advanced graduate study.
Students are advised to share their pre-professional
plans with their academic advisor to ensure a wide
range of support to help meet their academic goals.

and the campuses where it is offered.

The State University of New York offers three types
of undergraduate degree and certificate programs.
Certificate programs are usually one year in length
and lead directly to employment. They consist of a
focused series of courses and are typically found at
Community Colleges.

Bachelor's degree programs (including BA, BBA,
BM, BS, BTech, BFA, MusB) usually take four years
to complete as a full-time student. University Centers
and Doctoral Degree Granting Institutions, University
Colleges and the Technology Colleges offer bachelor's
degrees.
