Sink or Swim is helpful for new college graduates and seasoned professionals alike. It provides practical advice to help the new hire to efficiently and effectively transition into his or her new role within 90 days. The first 90 days on the job are the most important because that is T when you are most visible in your new role and are setting first impressions. Many companies don’t have a formal “on-boarding process,” and this book serves that purpose. Each chapter represents a different work week. A new objective is given each week, and the reader is given an opportunity to practice the five sink-or-swim skills: goal setting, effective time management, building your network and relationships, learning how to be a team player, and portraying the right professional image. Each week builds on the previous week’s experience.
