SWE - Winter 2009 - (Page 53) SME Bowl Winners THE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME) BOWL, sponsored by ExxonMobil, is a competition that challenges SWE collegiates’ knowledge in the areas of science, math, physics, engineering, and technology. It also challenges the students in their knowledge of SWE history, policies, and procedures. A tradition at the BY IRENE V. HODOR, SWE, EXXONMOBIL TORRANCE REFINERY national conference, SME Bowl was held this year in Baltimore. Regional winners receive prize money for the benefit of the region’s collegiate members. Individual team members also win prize money for their personal use.
