The Pitch Pipe - January 2009 - (Page 30) Family Chorus 2009 SWEET ADELINES INTERNATIONAL You are invited to participate in a special Sweet Adelines International Family chorus performance during the 2009 International Convention and Competition in Nashville, Tenn. To participate, you must be a current Sweet Adelines member and register with at least one female relative (mother, daughter, granddaughter, aunt, daughter-in-law, etc.) Relatives who participate do not need to be members of Sweet Adelines International, but must be registered for the convention. The performance will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009, following the chorus finals, immediately preceding the performance of the new quartet champion. Lynda Keever and her dauther, Heather Keever-Mears, from Elmhurst, Ill., will be directing the 2009 Family Chorus. Lynda and Heather are the lead and baritone of the International Champion Quartet, FOUR BETTYS, and members of the fivetime International Champion Chorus, Melodeers. Links to the sheet music and learning CD along with further information will be e-mailed after April 1, 2009. Downloads are $10 each. You must buy at least one download/packet to participate, but may purchase one for each participating family member. Due to copyright laws and restrictions, the CDs and sheet music may not be duplicated without permission. This year, after the Family Chorus registration deadline (March 2), there will be a random drawing of entries until the first 250 slots are filled. Names will be posted on the Web site after March 9, 2009. E-mail notification will be sent after April 1, 2009. You will receive more information on rehearsal times, costume and other requirements prior to the convention. Participation is limited to 250 singers, so get your registration in early.
