2009 Rising Star Quartet Contest Brochure - (Page 4) Preparing for Competition Quartets are expected to sing two competition songs that best showcase their strengths. While musical arrangements from the Young Women in Harmony song list are not required, they have been specifically arranged to enhance the vocal ranges of younger voices. Your music selection should showcase your quartet’s talents and vocal range. Please note that accurate harmony, performed as a unit, is paramount to each of the four judging categories. No extra points are awarded for the arrangement’s level of difficulty; the best performances present a solid rendition of a well-arranged barbershop song. Questions?
