2009 Rising Star Quartet Contest Brochure - (Page 5) For Educators The Rising Star Quartet Contest is produced by Sweet Adelines International, one of the world’s most leading vocal music education organizations. The experience of the preparation process, the commitment to a common goal and the excitement of participation are excellent reasons for young singers who share similar interests and goals to be recognized and rewarded for achievement as musical performers. The Rising Star Quartet Contest encourages young women to develop a mastery in their singing technique, and experience the pleasure of singing four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style. The educational opportunities this competition delivers as well as those offered during the week of the competition are invaluable to the growing musician. Send me an Educator’s Kit Click here to request your complimentary Educator’s kit, which includes: • Video presentation by choruses, quartets and teachers who incorporate barbershop music into their school curriculum • Numerous music selections arranged in the barbershop style and voiced for young singers. • An Educator’s guide to teaching and performance instructions for the provided music. • A listing of additional arranged music appropriate for the young singer. Posting Contest Information The last page of this brochure has been formatted for easy printing to post for your students to see.
