Goodbye and Hello
2017 crests the hill and rumbles down the tracks in the distance. We stand
and wave as another train squeals into view, laden with the promise of new
adventures. Are you ready for the ride?
This issue celebrates the milestones and memories we made in 2017.
Our "Year in Review" feature takes us back via a photo essay of events,
store openings, ribbon cuttings and the incredible growth we experienced
throughout the year. Our "Looking Ahead" is a sneak peek at what's to come,
with community leaders weighing in and sharing their exciting plans for 2018.

For many people, January is a time for resolutions, restarts and carefully
crafted lists of goals - big and small. In this issue, we chat with Enrichment
Academy instructors about classes that support personal growth - body,
mind and soul. Learn about the Dance of Yoga, a graceful fusion of yoga and
dance that leaves participants swaying in rhythmic unison to tunes that relax
and inspire. Lindsay Collier teaches Add Humor To Your Life; Add Life To Your
Humor, among other classes. He shows participants how to use laughter as
medicine and a means to grow younger. The 12-time author and keynote
speaker shares content from his creative books. And for those looking to improve
their memory and stimulate their minds with the power of neuroplasticity, Teri
Lee teaches Ageless Grace. Her cutting-edge brain fitness techniques are said to
promote brain health through simple, fun and surprisingly playful movements.
And don't put this issue down without reading our "Interesting Jobs" feature,
in which Villagers share their unique careers.
You'll meet a professional circus aerialist, a
costumed interpreter, an air traffic controller and more. You might be surprised to
learn that your pickleball pal had quite
a remarkable career!
