TWO NEW RESTAURANTS OPEN ALONG COUNTY ROAD 466 RED LOBSTER LAUNCHES NEW LOOK There has been a lot of excitement about the opening of Red Lobster in The Villages. The 7,138-square-foot seafood restaurant will be at 3830 Wedgewood Lane in Buffalo Ridge Plaza Shopping Center. The Orlando-based Darden Restaurants Inc. hosted opening night Jan. 26, and the restaurant opened full-time Feb. 2, for the lunch crowd. “We are really excited about being here and I’m excited about people seeing our new Red Lobster model,” said Keith Morrison, general manager, who notes the new look is setting a trend. “It’s the way Red Lobster will look like from now on.” This is the fourth Reb Lobster built in Florida with the new look, and about 10th one overall, he said. Keith has found that residents are eager to taste the new wood-grilled seafood dishes as advertised on television, and he believes they’ll be just as ready later this month during the restaurant’s Lobster Fest. “People will really be excited about it,” he said. “Anybody who has ever had it loves it.” Red Lobster’s hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The restaurant’s dinner menu is served beginning at 3 p.m. GO & DO Retail Briefs Retail Briefs IHOP OFFERS GREAT BREAKFASTS AND MORE Since IHOP opened its doors at 3480 Wedgewood Lane in Southern Trace Shopping Plaza in November, the restaurant has been filled with diners for breakfast, lunch and dinner. “It has been wonderful; we love The Villages,” said Janet Alexander, spokeswoman for the restaurant. “The people have been wonderful, and we just love being here.” IHOP is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. “Breakfast, obviously, is a great meal and it’s what we are known for, but we have been very pleased how many people have been dining with us in the evenings and how many wonderful compliments we have been getting about our different entrées for our dinner,” Janet said. “There are times when people come to IHOP and have breakfast for dinner.” Janet says she understands — she loves an IHOP breakfast for dinner, too.
