SWING BAND PROVIDES MUSIC FOR SENIOR PROM The Senior Prom returns to the Savannah Center for its fourth year at 7 p.m. June 13. The evening offers a wide variety of dance music, provided by The Villages Swing Band. “We’ll play the gamut of big band music from the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s,” said DeLeon Wilson, the group’s executive director and one of the trumpet players. “We’ll be playing some new dance tunes, too.” The prom has been a popular event among residents, selling out each of its previous three years. “”It gives people the opportunity to relive their prom days,” DeLeon said. “Some people go all out and rent tuxedos and limos, but any kind of semiformal dress is welcome.” The Senior Prom is BYOB and snacks. Ice will be provided. Go & Do Entertainment Briefs Tables are set up to seat 10 and can be reserved with the purchase of 10 tickets.
